South Africa Women made short work of Sri Lanka Women to finish the 2009 Women's World Cup in seventh place. Scorecard

In the seventh/eighth place play-off at the North Sydney Oval, Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 75 in 39 overs and their miserable tournament ended when South Africa raced to victory for the loss of one wicket in 28.3 overs.

Top scorer in Sri Lanka's meagre total was Suwini de Alwis, who made 24 while the only other player to reach double figures was Chandi Wickramasinghe, who made 15.

A spell of three for 11 from Dane van Niekerk did much of the damage, although Charlize van der Westhuizen picked up two for 16 with a wicket apiece Ashlyn Kilowan, and Alicia Smith. Two Sri Lankans were run out.

Although opener Yolandi van der Westhuizen fell for an 11-ball duck when she was bowled by Udesheka Prabhodani, Trish Chetty (41 not out) and Crizelda Brits (31) eased South Africa to victory.
