Indian frontline fast bowlers Zaheer Khan and Shanthakumaran Sreesanth have been ruled out of the upcoming Test series in the West Indies due to injury.
They have been replaced by Abhimanyu Mithun and Praveen Kumar, who is already in the Caribbean with the One-Day International squad.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Zaheer will miss the three-match series with a right ankle injury while Sreesanth is unavailable due to a right elbow problem.
Mithun, 21, played three Test matches in 2010, taking six wickets against Sri Lanka while Kumar has yet to play a Test although has played 50 One-Day Internationals.
The first Test begins on the 20th June in Jamaica and is followed by matches in Barbados and Dominica starting on 28th June and 6th July respectively.
