Sri Lanka have named a 15-man squad for the first three One-Day Internationals against New Zealand in a series that gets underway on 1st November.

Uncapped off-spinner Tharindu Kaushal has been included the squad despite yet to play a first-class, one-day or Twenty20 match outside of Under-19 internationals.

Mahela Jayawardene will continue to lead the side having been rested for the tour-opening Twenty20 International between the two sides in Pallekele with newly-appointed Twenty20 captain Angelo Mathews as his deputy.

The squad shows few changes from the Twenty20 squad aside from Kaushal's introduction, Rangana Herath's inclusion in place of Sachithra Senanayake and Dilshan Munaweera misses out with Lasith Malinga returning. Like Jayawardene, he will not play in the Twenty20 match.

19-year-old Kaushal has played 15 Under-19 ODIs, scoring 181 runs and taking 24 wickets at an average of 19.95.

Experienced spinner Ajantha Mendis was not considered for either squad due to injury.

Sri Lanka ODI squad: Mahela Jayawardene (captain), Angelo Mathews (vice-captain), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara, Dinesh Chandimal, Lahiru Thirimanne, Thisara Perera, Jeevan Mendis, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Shaminda Eranga, Upul Tharanga, Rangana Herath, Tharindu Kaushal
