Women's World Cup warm-up, Mumbai

Sri Lanka Women suffered a dramatic collapse before being well beaten by a Mumbai Combined XI side in their first wramwarm-up match ahead of the 2013 World Cup.

They failed to recover from a position of 42 for six, eventually being dismissed for 189 and going down by four wickets.

Mohammad Sayyad picked up three for 23, Laxman Yadav two for 20 and Mukund Sardar two for 21 to leave Sri Lanka in disarray, although thanks to 38 from Chamani Seneviratna and 39 from Prasadani Weerakkody, they managed to give their bowlers something to work with.

Not enough, however, as 50 from Ashutosh Singh, 49 from Abhishek Desai and 34 from Vinay Mishra handed the Indian side victory in the 43rd over.

Sri Lanka take on South Africa in their next warm-up game tomorrow (29th January).

Sri Lanka equalled their fourth highest ODI score to make 244 for seven before dismissing South Africa for 156 as Shashikala Siriwardene returned figures of four for 31.

England Beat New Zealand In Final Super Six Game

England Women beat New Zealand Women by 15 runs in the final Super Six match of the Women's World Cup in a match that was a repeat of the final four years ago. Events elsewhere in Mumbai, where the West Indies beat Australia, confirmed that neither of this sides can go any further in the tournament, but that didn't stop them producing an entertaining game.

West Indies Women sensationally beat Australia Women by eight runs in their final Super Six match in the ICC Women's World Cup, in doing so reaching their first ever final and knocking defending champions England, as well as New Zealand, out of the tournament.

Sri Lanka Collapse Hands South Africa Victory

Sri Lanka Women lost seven wickets for seven runs, collapsing from 110 for three to be all out for 117 to hand South Africa a 110-run win in their Women's World Cup Super Six game in Cuttack. They were making steady progress having been set 228 to win before losing their way completely, Dane van Niekerk taking four for 18 to ensure the two sides will meet again in Friday's fifth place play-off.
