Sri Lanka Fined For Slow Over Rate In Colombo
Sri Lanka have been fined for maintaining a slow over rate during the Twenty20 International against India in Colombo.
Sri Lanka lost the match by three wickets at the R. Premadesa Stadium but failing to bowl their overs quickly enough saw captain Tillakaratne Dilshan fined 20 percent of his match fee and the rest of his players losing 10 percent.
Match referee Chris Board imposed the fines after the home side were deemed to be two overs short of its target.
Having also lost the ODI series against India 4-1, Sri Lanka depart shortly to take on Pakistan in a two-Test series which begins on February 22nd.
