Sri Lanka have drafted off-spinner Dilruwan Perera along with pacers Nuwan Kulasekara and Nuwan Pradeep for the remaining two One-Day Internationals against Bangladesh.
The decision comes after Sri Lanka succumbed to a shocking 90-run defeat in the first game of the series in Dambulla while chasing 325 and now find themselves in a must win situation.
Kulasekara was earlier dropped from the original squad following his poor performance in South Africa where he picked a solitary wicket from three ODIs while Pradeep will play his first 50-over game since the tri-series in Zimbabwe in November. Perera, who has 11 wickets from 10 ODIs last played in the format in September last year.
Sri Lanka will also be sweating on the fitness of Suranga Lakmal, who injured his finger after he tried to take take evasive action to a ferocious hit from Shakib Al Hasan in the end overs of the Bangladesh innings in the first game.
Meanwhile, wicket-keeper batsman Niroshan Dickwella, who missed out the first ODI in Dambulla while serving a two-match ban will miss the remainder of the series against Bangladesh after sustaining a hairline fracture on his left hand while training.
The second and third ODIs will be played on 28th March and 1st April in Dambulla and Colombo respectively with Bangladesh having a 1-0 lead following their win in the first game.
