Sri Lanka have named a 14-strong women's squad which will tour South Africa to play three One-Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals.
The series begins with the first of three ODIs on 24th October before moving on to the Twenty20 matches on 31st October, 2nd November and 3rd November.
Shashikala Siriwardene will lead the side, which includes three new faces in Niluka Karunaratne, NI Ida and wicket-keeper Rebeccca Vandort.
Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Chandima Gunaratne and all-rounder Maduri Samuddika are included despite having played only a handful of internationals as Sri Lanka opt to use the tour as opportunities for new players to progress.
It is their first tour since their breakthrough performance at the 2013 World Cup, where wins over England and India helped them achieve a career-best finish of fifth place, achieved when they beat South Africa in the positional play-off.
Following the World Cup they hosted finalists West Indies, losing both the ODI and T20 series, 2-1 and 4-1 respectively although this series, against a team that recently saw off Bangladesh without too many alarms, should prove a better barometer of whether Sri Lanka are continuing to make on-field progress.
