Prime Minister’s XI v
Sri Lankans – Match Abandoned
Tour Match, Canberra
Sri Lanka’s only practice match ahead of their opening Commonwealth Bank Series fixture against India on Wednesday was abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.
Brad Haddin was due to lead the Prime Minister’s XI, with Mahela Jayawardene set to begin his second, rather reluctant, stint at the helm of Sri Lanka, but unfortunately the weather meant that not even a toss was possible.
The Prime Minister’s XI squad included Australian fringe limited-overs players Mitchell Marsh, Nathan Lyon, Ben Cutting, Peter Forrest and Adam Voges who will all have been disappointed with the washout.
