Sri Lanka have confirmed the appointment of Chaminda Vaas as bowling coach, and the former World Cup winner has signed a two-year contract.
He will lead bowling coaches Champaka Ramanayake and Anusha Samaranayake and join up with the squad ahead of the home series against Bangladesh, which begins on 8th March.
Vaas played 111 Tests, 325 One-Day Internationals and six Twenty20 Internationals for his country between 1994 and 2009, taking 760 wickets.
After retiring from all cricket in 2012, he helped New Zealand's fast bowlers during their tour of Sri Lanka. The Black Caps drew the Tests series 1-1 by winning their first Test in Sri Lanka for 14 years.
As New Zealand's quick bowlers played a major role in that success, it comes as litle surprise to see Sri Lanka Cricket move quickly to add Vaas's coaching skills to their own team.
Sri Lanka play two Tests, three One-Day Internationals and one Twenty20 International against Bangladesh in March.
