Steyn Named In South African One-Day Squad

On the back of his fine performances in the Test series, in which he took 20 wickets in two matches, Dale Steyn has been called up to South Africa's one-day international squad for the matches against New Zealand.

South Africa play one Twenty20 International followed by three one-day internationals and replaces Justin Kemp from the squad which beat Pakistan last month.

"Dale gives us an exciting extra option as a wicket-taking bowler," selection chief Joubert Strydom was quoted as saying in a Cricket South Africa media release on Tuesday.

Herschelle Gibbs, who injured a knee in the second Test, is a doubt for the Twenty20, with Morne Van Wyk on standby.

South Africa comfortably won both Tests to seal a 2-0 victory.

South Africa: Graeme Smith (captain), Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Mark Boucher, Shaun Pollock, Albie Morkel, Vernon Philander, Johan Botha, Andre Nel, Charl Langeveldt, Makhaya Ntini, Dale Steyn
