The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have confirmed that Stuart Broad will undergo surgery on his right knee on Thursday 4th September.
Broad was left out of England's One-Day International squad to play India and after taking specialist advice on tendonitis in his right knee, a date has been set for surgery.
"The ECB medical team confirmed that England pace bowler Stuart Broad is to have surgery on his right knee on Thursday 4 September," an ECB statement confirmed.
"A rehabilitation and recovery programme will be determined following the operation."
Broad revealed during the fourth Test at Emirates Old Trafford that he would be undergoing an operation on his right knee.
The timing of the surgery has been decided with the World Cup, which begins in February, in mind, as England's Twenty20 International captain will be out of action for at least three months.
