Australian fast bowler Stuart Clark is set to sign for Kent as an overseas player for the first part of the 2009 county season.
Chairman of Cricket Graham Johnson told the club's AGM that Clark would be arriving, playing until June before he joins up with the Australian team which is preparing to meet England in the Ashes from July.
"Stuart is a tremendous character and has a great record. He is a genuine wicket-taker and will bring a great amount to the side," Johnson was quoted as saying on Kent's website (www.kent-ccc.co.uk).
Clark, who has 90 wickets in 22 Tests, follows compatriots Phillip Hughes who signed a six-week deal to play for Middlesex in the early part of the season.
