Sussex CCC have announced their squad ahead of the LV=County Championship encounter with Northamptonshire, which starts tomorrow at The County Ground, Northampton.

Ed Joyce, fresh from hitting 135 not out against Cambridge MCCU last week, looks set to return to competitive action for the first time following his long-term hip injury.

Monty Panesar is on England Lions duty for the game against Bangladesh which starts on Wednesday at Derby, and the club are delighted he is once again gaining England recognition. Off-spinner Ollie Rayner and leg-spinner Will Beer are both brought into tomorrow’s squad.

Sussex are currently sitting top of Division Two having won four of their games in the campaign so far, and despite their three-wicket defeat against Middlesex in their last outing, they are still sixteen points clear at the summit in their challenge for promotion.

Northamptonshire are sitting second from bottom in the table and they were also beaten in their last appearance in the competition, going down by an innings and four runs at Glamorgan.

Sussex: James Anyon, Will Beer, Corey Collymore, Murray Goodwin (captain), Andrew Hodd, Ed Joyce, Robin Martin-Jenkins, Chris Nash, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Matthew Prior, Ollie Rayner, Michael Thornely
