Sussex Name Squad Still Searching For First Win

SCCC have today named a 16-man squad for the Twenty20 clash against Essex Eagles at the County Ground, as they look for their first win of the competition.

Mark Robinson, Professional Cricket Manager, said: “We are waiting until the players meet at 4pm to see how they scrub up physically. Chris Adams and I will then sit down and choose the final 11, at the moment it could be any of the 16.”

The squad is as follows; CJ Adams*, WAT Beer, CD Collymore, MW Goodwin, RJ Hamilton-Brown, AJ Hodd, CD Hopkinson, RJ Kirtley, CJ Liddle, RSC Martin – Jenkins, CD Nash, MJ Prior+, OP Rayner, DR Smith, TMJ Smith, and MH Yardy.

Friday night at Hove was a sell out crowd of 7,000. The Emirates North Stand was full to capacity as spectators cheered on the Sussex Sharks who eventually lost against the Hampshire Hawks in a nail biting finale. The game came down to the very last ball of the match.

Tickets for tonight’s game against Essex are still available. Call 0844 264 0206 or log on to www.sussexcricket.co.uk to book your tickets now. From 2pm tickets will only be available to purchase on the gate.
