Sussex Name Team To Chase First Twenty20 Win

Tonight Sussex Sharks take on Hampshire Hawks at Hove in their first home game of the Twenty20 competition. Following a tense finish against Kent, where they narrowly lost out to the defending Twenty20 Cup champions, Sussex are hoping for their first win in this year’s competition. Mark Robinson has named an unchanged squad from Wednesday’s game, although the line up does not feature Luke Wright who will play for England today in the Twenty20 Cup. The squad line up is as follows: CJ Adams*, CD Collymore, MW Goodwin, RJ Hamilton-Brown, CD Hopkinson, RJ Kirtley, CJ Liddle, RSC Martin–Jenkins, CD Nash, MJ Prior+, DR Smith, TMJ Smith, and MH Yardy. The game is likely to be a sell out and with the introduction of the Emirates sponsored north stand the atmosphere promises to be electric. Chief Executive, Gus Mackay said: “We are all very excited about our Twenty20 campaign, especially in light of the financial stakes now available for success in the competition for both players and Clubs. Every game will be like a final and we are confident that this evening’s predicted sell out crowd will leave fans wanting more of the action. Tonight promises to be the start of a successful Twenty20 campaign for Sussex.” © Sussex CCC
