Sussex Ready For Durham Horsham Festival Opener

Sussex resume their LV County Championship title defence tomorrow (Friday July 13) in the Emcel Filters Horsham Festival of Cricket after a two-week break for the Twenty20 Cup. The fixture against Durham is at Horsham Cricket Club, Cricket Road, Horsham, West Sussex RH12 1TE.

Tickets are available on the gate at £13 for adults and £5 for under 16s (or free if accompanied by an adult).

Pro Cricket Manager, Mark Robinson said: "After a change of tempo playing in the Twenty20 Cup we are now looking forward to getting back to the longer form of the game and enjoying some good weather and good cricket."

Chief Executive Gus Mackay added: "We are very grateful to all those who have played a part in ensuring the return of cricket to Horsham, where we have a good record of success."

Sussex will name their team from the following squad: Adams CJ*, Ahmed Mushtaq, Goodwin MW, Hodd AJ+, Lewry JD, Martin-Jenkins RSC, Montgomerie RR, Nash CD, Rana Naved ul Hasan, Saqlain Mushtaq, Wright LJ, Yardy MH.

* Sussex won the first five fixtures between the sides, and eight of the first nine matches.
* Sussex dominated Durham in 2006's matches, achieving the 'double' against them. In May's fixture at the Riverside, Sussex's score of 229 became the lowest score to win by an innings in the County Championship since Leicestershire (209/8 dec) beat Glamorgan (24 & 66) at Leicester in August 1971. In the return match at Hove in August, Sussex again won by an innings - scoring 530 in their only innings.
