Sussex Ready For Twenty20 Quarter Final Debut

Sussex Sharks will take on Yorkshire Phoenix in the Twenty20 Cup quarter finals at the County Ground in Hove tomorrow.

The Sharks have never reached the quarter final stages of the competition before nor have they ever faced Yorkshire Phoenix in the Twenty20 Cup.

The 7000 strong, sell out crowd will be rooting for, amongst others, Sussex player Luke Wright who at 298 is the highest run scorer in the competition. Wright, along with Matt Prior, Michael Yardy and James Kirtley was named in the provisional England Twenty20 World Cup squad last week.

Mark Robinson, Pro Cricket Manager said: "Confidence in the camp is high and the team are looking forward to playing in front of a sell out crowd and securing their place at Finals Day at Edgbaston on August 4th."

The game will be televised live on Sky Sports from 7.10pm with gates will opening at 5pm.

Sussex will name their team from the following squad: Adams CJ*, Ahmed Mushtaq, Goodwin MW, Hopkinson CD, Hodd AJ+, Kirtley RJ, Liddle C, Martin-Jenkins RSC, Nash CD, Rana Naved ul Hasan, Rayner OP, Smith TJ, Wright LJ.
