Graeme Swann and Chris Tremlett are injury doubts for England ahead of their three-day tour game against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) XI which gets underway on 11th January.
The tourists have already lost Tim Bresnan to an elbow injury and his replacement Graham Onions could feature if Swann (thigh) and Tremlett (eye) are not available.
Swann did not bowl on the final day of the three-wicket win over the ICC Combined Associate & Affiliate XI although he was fit enough to hit the winning run while Tremlett missed the match with an eye infection.
Swann is set for a scan on his injured thigh and the string of injuries to England's first-choice bowlers could open the door for Graham Onions to play his first Test since January 2010 - when he helped England block out a draw against South Africa in Cape Town.
Since then, he suffered a serious back injury but has fought his way back to form and into contention. Swann's injury problems should give left-arm spinner Monty Panesar his chance to impress ahead of the first of three Tests, which begins in Dubai on 17th January.
