England off-spinner Graeme Swann has returned home from India to spend time with his family after his young daughter was taken ill.
Swann, England's first-choice slow bowler, made his Test debut in India in 2008 and is anticipating returning in time for the opening match which begins in Ahmedabad on 15th November.
England begin their final tour game, a three-day match against Haryana, tomorrow (8th November).
A short statement from the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) read as follows:
"Graeme Swann has returned home to support his family and spend time with his daughter who is currently unwell.
"Swann will return to India ahead of the first Test in Ahmedabad, commencing November 15.
"This is a personal matter and we would ask for everyone to give Graeme and his family privacy. We will not be making any further comment at this time."
