Bangladesh's ongoing campaign in South Africa have suffered a major blow as opening batsman Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of the second and final Test that begins on Wednesday in Bloemfontein.
The 28-year-old's participation in the One-Day International series to follow is also under doubt as he suffered a muscle tear on his thigh that might need at least a month to recover.
The news comes as a major setback for Bangladesh, who are already with their experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. The team management have confirmed that Tamim will continue to remain in South Africa for further rehabilitation.
South Africa currently have a 1-0 unassailable lead in the two match series following their resounding 333 run victory in the first game in Potchefstroom.
