Indian openers Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag are to be rested from the third and final One-Day International against South Africa in Ahmedabad.
Tendulkar became the first man to score a double-century in One-Day International cricket during India's 153-run win in the second game in Gwalior that put them into an unassailable 2-0 series lead while Sehwag scored 46 in the first match before suffering an injury that prevented him from bowling.
He scored just nine in Gwalior despite the injury and earlier in the season, he stepped in to captain when Mahendra Singh Dhoni was banned against Sri Lanka.
With India also missing regular top-order batsman Gautam Gambhir due to injury, it is likely that two of Dinesh Karthik, Virat Kohli or Murali Vijay will open the batting.
Fast bowler Praveen Kumar has also been rested for the match.
