India and the Cricket Australia (CA) Chairman's XI drew their two-day tour game in Canberra after half-centuries on the second day for Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Rohit Sharma.

Tom Cooper made 182 not out after Wes Robinson scored 143 as the Australians reached 398 for six while India closed on 320 for six in reply.

Cooper faced 194 balls, hitting 24 fours and three sixes in an aggressive innings before Umesh Yadav returned figures of three for 39 and Pragyan Ojha took two for 149.

With the exception of Ajinkya Rahane, who made just three before falling to Jake Haberfeld, all of the Indian batsmen got in and enjoyed time at the crease.

Gautam Gambhir (35) and Rahul Dravid (45) fell short of half-centuries before Tendulkar stroked 92 in 132 balls, Laxman scored 57 in 76 deliveries and Sharma needed 79 balls to hit 56 not out.

Tendulkar retired eight runs short of a century which allowed Wriddaman Saha to score an unbeaten 23 after Virat Kohli was caught and bowled by Cameron Boyce for one.

The Indians play the Chairman's XI in a three-day game from 17th December as their final warm-up for the opening Test against Australia, which begins in Melbourne on 26th December.

Virat Kohli stroked his maiden Test century but India still trailed Australia by 382 runs at stumps on day three of the fourth and final Test in Adelaide. Kohli scored a patient 116 in 213 balls as India were bowled out for 272 in reply to 604 for seven declared, Australia then batting again and closing on 50 for three in their second innings.
Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke both scored double-centuries during a 386-run partnership together on day two of the fourth and final Test against India in Adelaide. Their efforts enabled the home side to declare on 604 for seven and they finished the day strongly to reduce India to 61 for two at stumps.
