Young batsman and academy graduate Shiv Thakor has signed a three-year summer contract with Leicestershire having captained the Under-17 side to league and cup success this season.

He also played for the second XI, scoring 96 against Essex in the last game of the season and has previously represented England at both Under-15 and Under-17 level.

“I am delighted that Shiv has signed a summer contract," chief executive Mike Siddall said.

"He is another product of Leicestershire’s excellent development system and I look forward to seeing him progress to the First XI in due course.”
