The Point Hosts North West Football Awards

It may have been dark and damp outside but inside The Point, Old Trafford Cricket Ground’s conference and events venue, it was a very glitzy evening as the Northwest’s finest and brightest attended the 5th Northwest Football Awards.

The evening got off to a flying start with host, BBC’s Dan Walker, warming the crowd up before they settled down for a delicious three course meal and to cast their votes for the goal of the year.

These prestigious awards, backed by the likes of FIFA, The PFA and The Football Foundation, celebrate the commercial, marketing and professional services talent in the region off the pitch - in addition to the recognised talent of the players on the pitch.

The evening, now a must in the sporting calendar attracted over 450 guests from football and football related services. Amongst the star studded guests were World Cup winner Patrick Vieira, Wigan Manager Roberto Martinez, ex-Bolton player, Fabrice Muamba and Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton.

Commenting on the night, Laura Wolfe, Managing Director at multi-award winning events and marketing company Journey9 said: said: “We at Journey9 care passionately about football so it was a truly memorable evening for us. Not only was this event fully subscribed and attended by some of the biggest names in the Northwest, it gave us the opportunity to showcase our expertise and build bridges with a lot of the clubs.”

Laura adds: “The Point provided the perfect backdrop for this unique sporting occasion and looked amazing”.
