The Point's Sales Manager Is 100 Not Out

When Peter Ash, sales manager at The Point, took the first group on a ‘hard hat’ tour of the new conference and events venue at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, he couldn’t have envisaged that he would join the elite at Lancashire County Cricket Club by notching up a century - albeit in a hard hat and hi-visibility bib and not with a bat on the pitch!

Although his century is for ‘hard hat’ tours it is just as valuable to the club from a financial point of view as almost half of those companies taking a tour of the £12 million development have turned into confirmed bookings.

Sales Manager Peter Ash says:

“During the construction of The Point we wanted not only to keep our existing customers in touch with the progress being made but also to reach other markets that were unaware of the activity taking place. Conducting the tours was a great opportunity to do that and it really encouraged conference and event organisers, trade and business media to take a sneak preview before the official opening on the 27th June. The feedback we received from the tours has been extremely positive. Manchester has been crying out for a 1000+ capacity events building for many years and this new facility will be the best of its kind.

Peter adds:

“I would like to add a special thanks to our construction company Morgan Sindall who carried out the initial health and safety briefs until I was fully qualified to lead the tours myself. It has been a pleasure working with such a very professional company.”

The Point at Old Trafford cricket ground is going to be one of the most prestigious event venues in the country. The purpose-built facility will be able to accommodate a conference or a formal dinner for up to 1,000 people.
