The Scout Association Is Prepared For Floodlit Match

Members of the 1st Bristol Muslim Scout Group joined Gloucestershire players recently to highlight the link between the Club and the Scout Association.

Scout Leader Ron Harvey, Iman Mirza, Rahma Mirza, Yusuf Mirza and Brunel Scout District Commissioner Mark Gollop joined GCCC players Vikram Banerjee, Steve Kirby and Chris Taylor at the County Ground, Bristol.

Some lucky members of the local scout groups have been selected to create a guard of honour to welcome the teams out onto the pitch for the Pro40 clash. The County Scout organisation will also have a display area at the ground to promote their activities and to encourage youngsters to take part in outdoor activity which is something the Club has always endorsed.

The Avon Scout network is benefiting from the special “kids go free” voucher offered by Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. With 12,000 members in the area, it s hoped that they have been busy downloading and printing off the voucher from the scout website and the GCCC website. The voucher entitles Under 16s free entry (normal gate price £9) to the NatWest Pro40 floodlit match on Wednesday when accompanied by a full paying adult.
