Thigh Injury Rules Prasad Out Of ODI Series

Sri Lankan fast bowler Dammika Prasad has been ruled out of the upcoming One-Day International series against Sri Lanka after suffering a thigh injury.

He joins a lengthy injury list which already includes Prasanna Jayawardene, Ajantha Mendis, Shaminda Eranga and Nuwan Kulasekara and has been replaced in the ODI squad by all-rounder Tissara Perera.

Perera has played two Tests, 21 ODIs and nine Twenty20 Internationals and last played an ODI against Scotland in July.

Prasad suffered the injury during the third and final Test against Pakistan in Sharjah and was only able to bowl four overs in Pakistan's first innings.

The five-match ODI series begins on 11th November in Dubai.

Akmal, Misbah Seal Series Win For Pakistan

Pakistan rounded off their One-Day International series against Sri Lanka with a three-wicket win that wrapped up a 4-1 series victory in Abu Dhabi. Sri Lanka lost four wickets for 46 runs before recovering to post 218 for nine before half-centuries from Misbah-ul-Haq and Umar Akmal guided Pakistan home with more than two overs to spare.

Inspirational Afridi Seals Series Win For Pakistan

Shahid Afridi turned in a virtuoso performance to inspire Pakistan to a 26-run win in the fourth One-Day International against Sri Lanka that put them into an unassailable 3-1 series lead. Twice Afridi was the man who got his side out of a losing position, first with the bat as he made 75 as Pakistan were bowled out for 200 and then with the ball by taking five for 35 as Sri Lanka were dismissed for 174.

Jayawardene Hits 10,000th Run But Sri Lanka Beaten

Sri Lankan batsman Mahela Jayawardene became the ninth player to hit 10,000 One-Day International runs but on the occasion of his 350th ODI appearance, Pakistan were celebrating after they moved into a 2-1 series lead with a 21-run win in Dubai. Jayawardene was stumped for 17 as his side were bowled out for 236 after Pakistan had posted 257 for eight from their 50 overs having won the toss for the first time in the five-match series.

Welagedara Replaces Injured Suranga Lakmal

Left-arm quick bowler Chanaka Welagedara has been called up to replace injured fast bowler Suranga Lakmal in Sri Lanka's One-Day International squad. Lakmal will miss the remainder of the ODI series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates and the Twenty20 International due to injury.
