West Indian all-rounder Darren Sammy has been ruled out of the third and final Test against South Africa after he tore a thigh muscle two days before the match gets underway.
Sammy, who hadn't featured in the series to date, tore his right thigh late in a training session on Thursday and a scan revealed the tear to his upper right thigh.
His unavailability for the match, which begins on Saturday, 26th June, means the West Indies will have a 12-man squad to pick from as they bid to overturn a 1-0 series deficit.
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has also confirmed that young all-rounders Shamarh Brooks and Kerron Cottoy will act as emergency fielders during the Test match.
West Indies squad: Chris Gayle (captain), Dwayne Bravo (vice-captain), Darren Bravo, Sulieman Benn, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Narsingh Deonarine, Brendan Nash, Nelon Pascal, Denesh Ramdin, Dale Richards, Kemar Roach, Shane Shillingford
