Bangladesh v South Africa: Match abandoned
3rd MTN One Day International, East London

The third and final One Day International between South Africa and Bangladesh in East London has been abandoned without a ball being bowled due to heavy rain.

The match was called off an hour and a quarter before the scheduled start after match referee Alan Hurst had consulted with both captains.

South Africa take the series 2-0 courtesy of big wins in Potchefstroom and Benoni; the two-match Test series between the two sides begins on November 19th in Bloemfontein.

Hashim Amla took the man of the series award after hitting 140 in Benoni, his maiden ODI century.

“I am very happy to have won this award,” Amla commented. “I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to open the batting in the ODI side. It is a big boost to my one-day career and I am looking to build on this start in the matches ahead when we play Australia in this format of the game early next year.”
