Lahiru Thirimanne scored an unbeaten century before the three-day tour game between Australia and the Sri Lanka Cricket Board XI was drawn in Colombo.

Thirimanne was unbeaten on 100 as the Sri Lankans closed on 174 for two in their second innings with Angelo Mathews also unbeaten on 30.

Australia were eventually bowled out for 393 in their only innings, Usman Khawaja hitting 101 on day two and Dilruwan Perera ending up with figures of three for 132.

The Board XI had been dismissed for 258 in their first innings on day one with Trent Copeland taking five wickets.

The first Test between Sri Lanka and Australia gets underway in Galle on 31st August.

Mathews And Hughes Score Centuries In Colombo

Angelo Mathews and Phillip Hughes both scored unbeaten centuries on day four of the third and final Test between Sri Lanka and Australia in Colombo. Mathews' maiden Test century enabled Sri Lanka to post 473 in reply to Australia's 316 while Hughes' first triple-figure score in Tests since March 2009 enabled Australia to close on 209 for three in their second innings and take a lead of 52 into the final day.

Sri Lanka Establish Lead Over Australia

Four Sri Lankans scored half-centuries as they established a 113-run lead over Australia at stumps on day three of the third and final Test in Colombo. Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Angelo Mathews all passed 50 but Australia hit back as Sri Lanka closed on 428 for six in reply to 315.

Sri Lanka Reply Strongly After Hussey Century

An unbeaten half-century from Kumar Sangakkara led a strong Sri Lanka reply to Australia's 310 all out on day two of the third and final Test in Colombo. The left-hander, playing his 100th Test, was on 66 at stumps as Sri Lanka closed on 166 for two after Tharanga Paranavitana also made 46.

Marsh And Hussey Help Australia Rebuild

Half-centuries from Shaun Marsh and Michael Hussey helped Australia rebuild after losing two early wickets - including one to Shaminda Eranga's first ball in Test cricket - on day one of the third and final match against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Marsh followed up his debut Test century with 81, batting at number three despite the return of Ricky Ponting, while Hussey was unbeaten on 63 as his golden run of form continued.

Sri Lanka And Australia Draw Second Test

A combination of strong batting from Sri Lanka and persistent rain and bad light ensured that despite the best efforts of Australia, the second Test in Pallekele was drawn. Sri Lanka ended their second innings on 317 for six when play was finally called off after they had managed to build a lead of 80.
