Sussex batsman and England Performance Programme member Chris Nash is to return to England having fractured his thumb in Pretoria.
Nash, who was awarded a new county contract shortly before he was injured in training, is to undergo an operation next week, the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) revealed.
He will then continue his rehabilitation under the guidance of the ECB medical team and no replacement will be named in the squad, which is due to remain in Pretoria until 17th December.
He becomes the second player to leave the group after fast bowler Liam Plunkett was added to England's full squad as cover for the first two One-Day Internationals against South Africa.
