ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier Group B, Dubai
Scorecard

Brilliant belligerent half-centuries from openers Alex Obanda and Steve Tikolo blasted Kenya to a stunning nine-wicket victory over Canada on day two of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier in Dubai.

Kenya needed a performance after losing their opening match to the United Arab Emirates and Canada's hopes now look shot after they also lost on the opening day, to the Netherlands.

Ashish Bagai top scored for Canada with 36 as they made 138 for nine but Kenya raced to victory in just 14.5 overs with Obanda making 79 and Steve Tikolo an unbeaten 50.

Canada made a swift start, Rizwan Cheema hitting 32 in 22 balls, but lost wickets throughout their innings, Bagai hitting his runs in as many balls and Geoff Barnett contributing 30 in 28 deliveries as Nehemiah Odhiambo picked up three for 16.

Kenya's reply was devastating, Obanda smashing 11 fours and a six during his 49-ball stay at the crease while Tikolo helped himself to five fours and one six in 36 balls.

Obanda's dismissal in the 13th over to Sunil Dhaniram, one of eight bowlers used by Canada, barely slowed Kenya's charge, Collins Obuya helping Tikolo get their side over the line with an unbeaten six.

Kenya's final group game is against the Netherlands while Canada will play the UAE.
