Kenya 289-4 (Tikolo 126no) beat
Afghanistan 240 by 49 runs
World Cup warm-up match, Dubai
Steve Tikolo stroked an unbeaten century to set up a 49-run win for Kenya over Afghanistan in a World Cup warm-up match in Dubai.
Tikolo was unbeaten on 126 as Kenya scored 289 for four before bowling Afghanistan out for 240 in reply.
Collins Obuya (49), Tanmay Mishra (48), and Morris Ouma (33 not out) also made contributions as the Kenyans produced a strong batting display.
That could not be matched by Afghanistan as they slipped to 48 for three and failed to recover sufficiently to get the run chase back on track.
They were eventually dismissed in the 43rd over. Kenya, who make 2000/1 outsiders to win the World Cup, continue their preparations in Dubai when they play Ireland on 9th February.
They then travel to Sri Lanka to play the West Indies and the Netherlands before beginning their campaign against New Zealand on 20th February.
