Yorkshire all-rounder Tim Bresnan has been added to England's One-Day International squad ahead of the five-match series against Sri Lanka.

Bresnan was ruled out of the Test series between the two sides with a calf injury but has now fully recovered and returned to action with Yorkshire in the Friends Life t20 earlier this week.

He will join the squad ahead of the first match at The Oval on 28th June and is available for selection immediately and will be hoping to add to his 42 ODI appearances.

England produced a fine all-round performance to beat Sri Lanka by 16 runs in an excellent fifth and final One-Day International at Old Trafford. Dinesh Chandimal stroked a fine century as Sri Lanka eventually beat England by six wickets in the third One-Day International at Lord's to move into a 2-1 series lead. Chandimal finished unbeaten on 105 and the tourists might have finished the game far earlier than they did but for the determination of Angelo Mathews to get Chandimal through to his second ODI century.

Broad Fined For Making Unacceptable Comments

England Twenty20 International captain Stuart Broad has been fined 50 percent of his match fee for showing serious dissent at an umpire's decision. After Billy Bowden turned down an lbw appeal made by Broad during the second One-Day International against Sri Lanka at Headingley, Broad was reported for making unacceptable and offensive remarks to the umpire when leaving the field.

Sri Lanka Level Series On Back Of Jayawardene Ton

Mahela Jayawardene announced his return to form with a sublime century to help set up Sri Lanka's 69-run win over England in the second One-Day International at Headingley. The former captain scored 144 in 150 balls as Sri Lanka reached 309 for five before dismissing England for 240 with Alastair Cook suffering his first defeat in charge of his country.

England bounced back from their Twenty20 International defeat to beat Sri Lanka by 110 runs in the first One-Day International at The Oval. It was the perfect start to Alastair Cook's career as full-time ODI captain while on the other end of the spectrum Sanath Jayasuriya made just two runs in his final match.
