England and Yorkshire all-rounder Tim Bresnan has been ruled out of Sunday's Twenty20 International against India at Edgbaston due to a shoulder injury.

He has a right shoulder strain and is an injury doubt for Yorkshire as they prepare for the final stretch of their domestic season.

Unless there are any other injury problems, Bresnan will not be replaced in the England squad.

Bresnan has not played for England since the ICC World Twenty20 earlier this year but has played in 23 Tests, 84 One-Day Internationals and 34 Twenty20 Internationals since making his debut in 2006.

The two sides go into the one-off match, the final game of India's tour, after contrasting fortunes in the Test and ODI series.

England won the Test series 3-1 and India won the ODI series by the same margin.
