Durham have confirmed that New Zealand batsman Tom Latham is all set to return to the English county club for the 2018 season.
The contract is subject to approval by the New Zealand board with the decision to be out in the next few days.
The 25-year-old scored 382 runs from four County Championship Division Two matches in which he scored 382 runs at an average of 63.66 and in the Natwest T20 Blast, he managed 62 runs from five games with an average close to 28.
Durham head coach Jon Lewis is pleased with the news and is confident that the club will be benefitted by Latham's signing.
“Tom has made a fantastic contribution on and off the field during his time here at Durham,” said Lewis.
“His performances with the bat have been excellent and he is a big influence in the dressing room.
“Myself and the players are delighted that he will be returning for the entire 2018 campaign”.
Latham will miss the final round of the ongoing County Championship for Durham as he was recalled by the New Zealand board for training ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh that begins on 28th September.
