Rampaul Hoping For Successful Comeback

West Indies fast bowler Ravi Rampaul hasn't played international cricket since December and is eager to get back into the swing of things ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy. Edgbaston was a bleak picture for most of the day as the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 warm-up match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was abandoned without a ball being bowled. Lokuhettige Replaces Injured Welagedara For Sri Lanka

Dilhara Lokuhettige has been called up to replace fellow fast bowler Chanaka Welagedara in Sri Lanka's 15-man squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2013. Welagedara suffered an injury to his right foot and ankle and underwent scans, the results of which have forced him out of the reckoning for the tournament, which is held in England and Wales between 6th and 23rd June.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that Elite Panel umpire Asad Rauf has been withdrawn from standing in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. The Pakistani official is reportedly under investigation by Mumbai Police who are conducting enquiries into spot-fixing and corruption in cricket.

Smith was ruled out of the tournament with a recurrence of the ankle injury which has troubled him over the last 18 months and Petersen, his opening partner in Test cricket, takes his place in the squad.

ICC Champions Trophy Warm-Up Games Revealed

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the schedule of warm-up matches ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, which will be held from 30th May to 4th June. The tournament itself gets underway on 6th June and the warm-up matches will be held in the same venues as the competition - The Oval, Edgbaston and the Cardiff Wales Stadium.

Graeme Smith Out Of Champions Trophy

South Africa have been dealt an unfortunate blow after former captain Graeme Smith was ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 with an injury to his left ankle. Scans revealed a stress fracture to the ankle with which he has had trouble with in the past, including undergoing surgery last year, although it still caused him to miss matches in March and he did not take part in the 2013 Indian Premier League.

England batsman Kevin Pietersen has suffered a further injury setback with the news that his knee injury will keep him out of the Champions Trophy as well as the New Zealand Test series. Pakistan's Champions Trophy Hopes Hit By Gul Withdrawal

Pakistan fast-bowler Umar Gul has been ruled out of the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy, which will take place in England in June, with a knee injury. He will also miss the One-Day Internationals against Scotland and Ireland next month. Gul first felt discomfort in his knee during the ODI series against South Africa last month and missed the final three matches in the series in order to rest it.
