Big Wins for Sale CC 2nd & 3rd teams

Sale 1st XI held on for a draw at 3rd placed Widnes in division one of the Vivio Cheshire County Cricket League, whilst the 2nd and 3rd teams both had decisive wins in their quests for silverwear.

Saturday morning, weather set fair again and what turned out to be a pretty successful weekend for the club, with three wins from four games on Saturday, with a win and a loss on Sunday. Having waited until the end of the British Lions game before setting off for the club (just making it in time for the scheduled meet) I was again in the first team this weekend.

Callander, Scotland, May 1, 2017– On July 21st 2017 Callander Cricket Club will be making its first overseas trip with a 7 day tour to Slovenia and Croatia supported by players from fellow Forth Valley clubs St Modans and Westquarter & Redding.

Sunday saw the last group game for the Shropshire D40 team, when we hosted Cheshire at Alscott Cricket Club. Having already won the group with a game to spare we were determined to maintain our 100% record for the season so far.

Early start for me on Saturday – unfortunately though, it was for the journey to work and stocktaking, not to a cricket ground. Having managed to not give the game away to my boss who was trying to avoid the score in The British Lions game that I was listening to on the radio, I found myself wishing that I was warming up before a game, not counting screws, sockets and lamps.
