The top of Division One of the LV= County Championship went a long way towards being settled today, with the likely finishing order now Durham, Yorkshire and Middlesex. The former are probably about 90 minutes away from securing the title, while Yorkshire have taken control over Middlesex. Elsewhere, Essex, Hampshire and Surrey enjoyed good days, while promotion hopefuls Northamptonshire struggled against Kent.
Gloucestershire, Middlesex and Essex all completed victories in the remaining matches in round 13 of the LV= County Championship, while there was a much-needed win for Warwickshire in the day's Friends Life t20 fixture.

Durham and England all-rounder Paul Collingwood has ended speculation about his future in county cricket by signing a three-year deal with the Dynamos.
There had been speculation that he was to consider a move to Derbyshire but he has decided to remain with his home county, for whom he has played since 1995.
