Gloucestershire Players Invite Fans To Beer Tasting

Gloucestershire players have invited fans to St Austell Brewery pub The Albion to find out a bit more about beer in the company of their favourite cricketers. The Albion, in Clifton Village, Bristol, will host the fun beer tasting evening from 7pm - 9pm on Tuesday, June 18th in association with Gloucestershire County Cricket Club.

Gloucestershire Sign Ireland Star Kevin O'Brien

Gloucestershire have announced the signing of Ireland's World Cup hero Kevin O'Brien for the rest of the English domestic season. O'Brien, who has played 58 One-Day Internationals for his country, and enjoyed a spell with Nottinghamshire, starred in the 2011 World Cup when he blasted a 50-ball century to guide Ireland to a three-wicket win over England in a group game in Bangalore.

Gloucestershire Sign Muttiah Muralitharan

Gloucestershire have sealed the signing of legendary Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan on a two-year deal to play Twenty20 cricket. Muralitharan, who will retire from international cricket following the 2011 World Cup, has taken a record 800 Test wickets and to date 519 One-Day International wickets.

Alex Gidman Extends Gloucestershire Contract

Gloucestershire captain Alex Gidman has signed an extension to his contract with the club which should see him remain a Gladiators player until the end of the 2013 season. His current deal was due to expire at the end of the year and his signing is a major boost for the club, which has lost William Porterfield, Anthony Ireland, Gemaal Hussain and Steve Kirby during the close season.

Gloucestershire have signed 27-year-old fast bowler David Wade - currently a Lance Corporal with the Royal Signals - on a two-year contract. Wade will train with Gloucestershire over the winter while still remaining with the Army before joining the club on a full-time basis this summer.

Cockbain Signs For Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire have signed former Lancashire and MCC Young Cricketer batsman Iain Cockbain on a two-year contract, the club has confirmed. Cockbain, who played second XI cricket for Lancashire before moving to Lord's in 2008, scored over 1400 runs in all competitions in second XI cricket in 2010 while he has also fulfilled 12th-man duties for England when they played at Lord's this summer.
