West Indies Women Name World T20 Squad

West Indies Women have named a 14-woman squad for the World Twenty20 and five-match series against England, which begin next month. All-rounder Britney Cooper has been recalled following her successful recovery from a fractured finger, while young wicket-keeper Kycia Knight and teenage leg-spinner Shaquana Quintyne are also included.

England Women Name World T20 Squad

England Women have named a 14-woman squad for their forthcoming Twenty20 International assignments against Pakistan, West Indies and for the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka, which will be played alongside the men's event. The only change from their successful summer Twenty20 squad is the return of seam bowler Anya Shrubsole at the expense of Georgia Elwiss.

Lumb And Wright Return To England T20 Squad

England have named their squads for the World Twenty20, which begins on 18th September, and for the One-Day International series against South Africa, which begins on 24th August. There are no major surprises in either squad, with Kevin Pietersen missing out due to the ongoing fall-out from the text affair and Stuart Broad being rested for the ODI series against South Africa. Luke Wright and Michael Lumb return to help defend the World T20 which they helped win in 2010.

John Mooney Ruled Out Of World Twenty20

Ireland have been dealt a sizeable blow ahead of next month's World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka with the news that influential all-rounder John Mooney has been ruled out with a fractured finger. He sustained the injury while playing for his club side North County and is expected to be out of action for three months.

Muzhange Included In Zimbabwe T20 Squad

Brian Vitori and Richard Muzhange are the only uncapped players in Zimbabwe's 15-man squad for September's World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka. Muzhange did, however, play during the unofficial Twenty20 Internationals against Bangladesh and South Africa in June, while Vitori has already represented his country in both Test matches and One-Day Internationals and impressed during an 'A' team tri-series in Harare last month.

Australia have named their 15-man squad for next month's World Twenty20 and have sprung no surprises, naming the same players that were picked in July to compete in the forthcoming three match Twenty20 series against Pakistan in the UAE.

Farhad Reza Included In Bangladesh World T20 Squad

Farhad Reza is the only notable inclusion in Bangladesh's 15-man squad for the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka. He replaces fast-bowler Nazmul Hossain from the squad that toured Europe, playing matches against Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands.

As expected, New Zealand have named former captain Daniel Vettori in their final 15-man squad for the World Twenty20, which begins next month. A more surprising inclusion is that of left-arm seamer Adam Milne, who hasn't played for his country since December 2010.

Kallis Included In South Africa World T20 Squad

Jacques Kallis has made the cut and has been selected in South Africa's final 15-man squad for next month's World Twenty20. Test captain Graeme Smith, who was included in the 30-man provisional squad, has not been included however. The other notable absentee is fast-bowler Marchant de Lange who has still not recovered from the back injury which ruled him out of the ongoing tour to England.

England Women Name Provisional Squad For World T20

The England selectors have named their provisional squad for the ICC Women's Twenty20, which will be held alongside the men's later this year. The men's event kicks off in Sri Lanka on 18th September, with the women's event getting underway on 26th September. England's first match is the following day against Pakistan Women in Galle.

South Africa have recalled Jacques Kallis and Graeme Smith to their provisional 30-man squad for the WorldTwenty20 in September. Kallis last played for the Proteas as a regular member of their T20 team in May 2010, while Smith was dropped before February's three-match series against New Zealand.

Lyon And Pattinson Left Out Of Australia's World T20 Squad

Australia have named their provisional squads for both the men's and women's World Twenty20 tournament in Sri Lanka. A surprising omission from the men's squad is off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who has apparently been overlooked in favour of all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. Another man who will be disappointed to be left out is fast-bowler James Pattinson, with Ben Laughlin and Dirk Nannes included at his expense.

Yuvraj Singh has made a welcome return to an Indian national squad for the first time since his cancer diagnosis. It is understood that he is currently training in Bangalore and said that he believed Twenty20 cricket was the best format for him to make his cricketing comeback as he builds up his stamina following several gruelling rounds of chemotherapy.

England have omitted Kevin Pietersen from their provisional squad for the ICC World Twenty20 in September. His omission means that he will not be available to help England defend their crown and seemingly quashes any talk of a u-turn over his retirement from limited-overs internationals.

New Zealand have named their 30-man preliminary squad for the ICC World Twenty20, including uncapped players Anaru Kitchen and George Worker. Kitchen is a left-arm spinner while Worker is a left-hand batsman and there is no place in the squad for powerful all-rounder Jesse Ryder.

Pakistan Name 30-Man Preliminary ICC WT20 Squad

Pakistan have named a 30-man provisional squad for the 2012 ICC World Twenty20, leaving out current Test and One-Day International captain Misbah-ul-Haq. Misbah played a key role during Pakistan's run to the final in 2007 but no longer features for the Twenty20 side, Mohammad Hafeez being named as captain earlier this year.

England captain Charlotte Edwards and her Indian counterpart Mithali Raj got their hands on the ICC Women's World Twenty20 trophy ahead of their T20 match at Canterbury. Both players would love to lift the trophy for good later this year and Edwards has already held it, after England won the inaugural tournament on home soil in 2009.

Former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori has made himself available for the ICC World Twenty20 2012, which gets underway in Sri Lanka in September. Vettori had previously announced he was taking a break from limited overs cricket but the lure of another global tournament has proved hard to resist.
