South African all-rounder AB de Villiers has withdrawn from the Twenty International series against New Zealand to rest ahead of the Test series that begins next year. Although de Villiers had been named in the squad, he was not due to take on his normal role as captain but after a busy year, he requested to be excused from the series.

South Africa Keep Faith With Perth Test Heroes

South Africa have kept faith in the team that beat Australia in Perth earlier this month in naming a 13-man squad to take on New Zealand in two Tests in January. The 11 players that won by 309 runs to take a 1-0 series win at the WACA are joined by Jacques Rudolph and Rory Kleinveldt as leg-spinner Imran Tahir is left out.

Edwards To Lead England's World Cup Defence

Charlotte Edwards is set for her fifth Women's World Cup after she was named as the captain of England's 15-strong squad for the competition. Edwards led England to the title in 2009 and will take charge again during next year's tournament, which gets underway in India on 31st January.

Lumb Meets England Visually Impaired Team Ahead Of T20 World Cup

Michael Lumb joined players from the 16-man England squad at Edgbaston last week as they began preparations for the first ever T20 World Cup for visually impaired cricketers. Warwickshire's Luke Sugg will captain England as they face eight other national teams in Bangalore, India from the 2nd-13th December.

Cricket World Player Of The Week - Michael Lumb

England's Sydney Sixers batsman Michael Lumb has been named as the Cricket World Player Of The Week after his batting helped his side win the Champions League Twenty20 in emphatic style. Lumb top scored in both the semi-final win over Nashua Titans and the final against Highveld Lions to walk off with the golden bat award for leading run-scorer and was also named as man of the match in the final.

Daredevils Move Closer To Semi-Final Spot

Perth Scorchers fought hard but couldn't quite defend their below-par total of 121 for five against Delhi Daredevils on a sluggish Cape Town pitch. Daredevils won with three balls and three wickets to spare as Ajit Agarkar's cameo of 11 off seven balls saw them home and eliminated Perth from the competition.

ICC WT20: Nicol And Southee Delayed Due To Illness

New Zealand are finalising their preparations for the ICC World Twenty20 two men light after batsman Rob Nicol and Tim Southee were unable to travel to Kandy due to illness. Both players reported feeling unwell - Southee before the warm-up match against South Africa and Nicol - after and will remain in Colombo.

England Women Ease To Victory

England Women recorded their 16th successive win in Twenty20 Internationals by defeating West Indies Women by eight wickets in the first match of their five match series at Chester-le-Street. Charlotte Edwards and Laura Marsh ensured that England made short work of the tourists' woeful total of 71 for eight and added 59 inside the first seven overs.

Lumb And Wright Return To England T20 Squad

England have named their squads for the World Twenty20, which begins on 18th September, and for the One-Day International series against South Africa, which begins on 24th August. There are no major surprises in either squad, with Kevin Pietersen missing out due to the ongoing fall-out from the text affair and Stuart Broad being rested for the ODI series against South Africa. Luke Wright and Michael Lumb return to help defend the World T20 which they helped win in 2010.

Giles Clarke And Lalit Modi Settle Out Of Court

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has issued a short statement confirming that its Chairman Giles Clarke and former Indian Premier League commissioner Lalit Modi will settle a legal dispute out of court. Modi pursued libel claims against Clarke in 2010 after the contents of an email to the President of the Indian cricket board (BCCI) were reported in the media.

Worcestershire ended their match against the South Africans by having had the better of the draw as they went past the tourists' first innings and then reduced them to 67 for four in their second before the teams shook hands. The tourists had had the better of the day's opening exchanges, however, as Worcestershire resuming on 70 for three, lost Neil Pinner for the addition of only ten runs to a short ball from Vernon Philander.

Alex Hales became the first man to be dismissed for 99 in a Twenty20 International but England still celebrated a seven-wicket win over the West Indies at Trent Bridge. After the West Indies posted 172 for four batting first, Hales and Ravi Bopara (59) put on 159 for the second wicket to turn the game in England's favour.

England Women comprehensively beat Ireland Women by 51 runs in a Twenty20 International in Loughborough as they began preparations for their summer. Captain Charlotte Edwards led by example in scoring 72 not out in 51 balls as England posted 136 for four before Ireland could reach only 85 for five in reply.

Ambati Rayudu and Rohit Sharma fired Mumbai Indians to an improbable four-wicket win over the Kings XI Punjab at Mohali as another Indian Premier League 2012 match went down to the final over. Chris Cairns Wins Libel Case Against Lalit Modi

Former New Zealand international Chris Cairns has won his libel case against Lalit Modi and been awarded £90,000 in damages. Cairns brought the case after he was dropped from a list of players available ahead of an Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. The league chairman Modi subsequently tweeted that the reason for his exclusion was due to links with match-fixing during the now-defunct Indian Cricket League.

Jamshed And Sarfraz In Pakistan Asia Cup Squad

Pakistan have named their 14-man squad for the Asia Cup, which begins on 11th March in Bangladesh as they bid to win the title for the first time since 2000. Misbah-ul-Haq has been retained as captain and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has handed recalls to opener Nasir Jamshed and wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed.
