There were wins for Durham, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Glamorgan and Middlesex in the evening's Friends Life t20 matches. Meanwhile, at Cheltenham, Kent and Gloucestershire set up a last day run chase in their LV= County Championship Division Two match.

Leicestershire Support DMU's Ask Me About Campaign

Students at our cultural partners De Montfort University (DMU) recruited famous Leicestershire CCC faces to support a new mental health campaign. Matthew Boyce, who recently walked from John O'Groats to Lands End to raise money and awareness for mental health charity MIND, Niall O’Brien, Nathan Buck, Michael Thornely, Shiv Thakor, James Sykes and Club Ambassador Paul Nixon were among those backing the Ask Me About campaign.

Boyce Receives £5,000 Cheque Following Epic Journey

Matthew Boyce was today presented with a £5,000 from Walkers Crisps and parent company PepsiCo for completing his epic journey from John O'Groats to Land's End in December. Matthew walked from one end of the UK to the other because he wanted to raise money and awareness for Mind and the PCA's Benevolent Fund.

Paul Nixon Hangs Up His Wicket-Keeping Gloves

Leicestershire's former England wicket-keeper Paul Nixon has announced his retirement from cricket and will play for the Foxes for last time at Grace Road in the Friends Life t20 quarter-final against his former club Kent on 6th August. His decision to retire at the end of the season bring to an end a 24-year career, 21 of which he has spent with Leicestershire, wnning two County Championships and two Twenty20 Cups.

Broad Appeal Collection Raises Nearly £1000

Chris Broad has thanked Leicestershire CCC for their collection for The Broad Appeal at the Friends Life t20 game against Nottinghamshire Outlaws last Friday. The total money raised was £945.19 and Chris, who was joined on the field by son Stuart and Leicestershire CEO Mike Siddall during the interval, sent a personal message of thanks.

Leicestershire Foxes Support Broad Appeal

Leicestershire Foxes are delighted to be supporting The Broad Appeal throughout the Friends Life t20 game against Nottinghamshire Outlaws on Friday evening. The Appeal has been set up by Chris Broad, who lost wife Miche to motor neurone disease last year. Chris has joined forces with son Stuart and Gemma to raise money and increase understanding of MND through the establishment of The Broad Appeal.

Leicestershire Sign Abdul Razzaq For Twenty20

Leicestershire have announced the signing of Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq in time for the Friends Life t20 competition, which they begin when they play Northamptonshire on 3rd June. Vastly experienced Razzaq, who has played 46 Tests, 262 One-Day Internationals and 26 Twenty20 Internationals, featured prominently as the Hampshire Royals won the 2010 competition at The Rose Bowl.

Leicestershire Announce India T20 Sell-Out

Leicestershire CCC is delighted to announce that the visit of World Champions India to Grace Road on Monday August 29 is now a sell-out. Ticket sales have gone through the roof since India beat Sri Lanka to lift the World Cup on home soil and so the 20-over spectacular will be played at a jam-packed Grace Road on the Bank Holiday.

Vice-Chancellor of DMU Professor Dominic Shellard signed a Letter of Cooperation with the club today (Monday 4 April) at the Grace Road ground with club Chief Executive Mike Siddall.

The National Space Centre, Leicester's leading visitor attraction, has challenged the players to take on their exciting 'save the world' scenario, to see if they have the "right stuff" on Wednesday, March 16.

Shiv Thakor Wins British Asian Sports Award

Leicestershire CCC’s rising star Shiv Thakor picked up a prestigious award at the 10th annual Lebara British Asian Sports Awards (BASA) ceremony on Saturday night. The glittering event, which was held at the Grosvenor Hotel on Park Lane, London, recognises the most talented Asian sports performers in the UK and Shiv emerged victorious in the Telesky Shopping Young Sports Personality of the Year (Male Under-18).

David Wilson Foundation Makes Donation To LCCC

Leicestershire CCC is delighted to accept a fantastic £40,000 grant from the David Wilson Foundation, which will go into the Leicestershire Young Cricketers Education Trust (LYCET) and continue to support the exciting talent at Grace Road. Club President David Wilson, who was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours, has been extremely generous since the trust was set up in 2008 and the funding allows our gifted young cricketers to fast-track their development by being provided with new experiences abroad.
