India To Play Australia In World Cup Final

India reached the final of the Under-19 World Cup with a tense nine-run win over New Zealand in Townsville. They will now play tournament hosts Australia in Sunday's final. Elsewhere, Zimbabwe avoided a humiliating last place finish by beating Namibia in the 15th place play-off and Nepal beat Papua New Guinea.

Australia Reach Under-19 World Cup Final

Australia won a hard-fought match against South Africa to reach the final of the Under-19 World Cup in Townsville. They restricted South Africa to just 191 for eight after asking them to bat as opening bowlers Joel Paris and Mark Steketee each took an early wicket. Elsewhere, there were wins for England, Afghanistan, Nepal and Papua New Guinea.

India And New Zealand Win Tense Quarter-Finals

There were two extremely close and unbelievably tense quarter-finals in the Under-19 World Cup today, with India running out winners by one wicket over arch rivals Pakistan, and New Zealand beating West Indies off the final ball in Townsville. The plate quarter-finals were much more one-sided in contrast, with Ireland and Sri Lanka easing past Namibia and Nepal.

Scotland Scrape Through To Join Namibia And Canada

Namibia, Canada and Scotland completed the qualifiers after the group stage of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2012 in the United Arab Emirates. Namibia top group B after their seventh straight win, Canada finished in third in Group A by beating Nepal but Scotland crept through in group B despite a shock seven-wicket defeat to the United States of America.

Afghanistan, Kenya, Netherlands and Scotland all secured victories on the morning of day six of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2012 in the United Arab Emirates. All four sides are ranked in the top six at the tournament and they all scored victories batting second over Hong Kong, United States of America, Nepal and Italy respectively.

Afghanistan and Namibia made it five wins out of five to remain at the top of their respective groups after the fifth day of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates. There was also a first win so far for the United States of America, who beat Oman, while also victorious were Hong Kong, Netherlands, Nepal, Italy and Ireland.

Papua New Guinea And Kenya Take First Victories

Papua New Guinea and Kenya took their first wins of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2012 during the afternoon of the third day's competition, which also saw wins for the Netherlands and Scotland. PNG, who pushed Afghanistan and Canada hard in their first two matches, beat Nepal while Kenya beat Oman who are now one of three teams yet to score a win.

Namibia beat higher-ranked opponents for the second time in two days as the later games in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates produced plenty of thrills and spills. Having defeated Ireland on the opening day, Namibia meted out similar treatment of Scotland while there were also wins for Afghanistan, Nepal and Oman.
