India and England could not be separated at the end of a pulsating ICC Cricket World Cup encounter in Bangalore, both sides scoring 338 in a match that was tied. Sachin Tendulkar scored a sublime century while Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh added half-centuries to steer India to an impressive total of 338 all out before England closed on 338 for eight.

Sehwag Opens Cricket World Cup In Style

Indian batsman Virender Sehwag took strike to the opening ball of the Cricket World Cup 2011 against Bangladesh, and promptly opened proceedings in style by hititng it to the boundary. India had been put into bat by co-hosts Bangladesh but Sehwag overcame the run out of opening partner Sachin Tendulkar to register the tournament's first century, as well as hitting the tournament's first six.

Chawla Included In Indian World Cup Squad

India have included leg-spinner Piyush Chawla in their 15-man squad for the 2011 World Cup, which also includes Praveen Kumar and Sachin Tendulkar. Kumar and Tendulkar have been forced home from the current tour of South Africa due to injury while Chawla last played a One-Day International in 2008 but is part of the squad in South Africa.

Tendulkar To Miss Rest Of South Africa ODI Series

Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of the remaining three One-Day Internationals against South Africa and has been replaced in India's squad by left-hand batsman Parthiv Patel. Tendulkar scored seven in the opening match in Durban, which South Africa won by 135 runs, and he then scored 24 in the second match - his 443rd ODI appearance - as India snatched a one-run to level the series.

South Africa-India ODI Series Preview

India have named a 16-man squad for their upcoming One-Day International series in South Africa, recalling leg-spinner Piyush Chawla and leaving out fast bowler Ishant Sharma as well as all-rounder Ravi Jadeja. Sachin Tendulkar returns to the squad and is set to play an ODI for the first time since the series against South Africa in India in February, when he scored a double-century in Gwalior.
