ICC Shortlist For All-Time Greatest ODI Team Unveiled

Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar and dangerous opener Virender Sehwag are among the list of players nominated for an ICC online poll to select the all-time greatest team that coincides with one-day cricket's 40th anniversary celebrations. Former skipper Sourav Ganguly is also in the list of openers, from which only two will feature in the final dream team.

Tendulkar, Chawla Named In India's ODI Squad

India have named a 16-man squad for their upcoming One-Day International series in South Africa, recalling leg-spinner Piyush Chawla and leaving out fast bowler Ishant Sharma as well as all-rounder Ravi Jadeja. Sachin Tendulkar returns to the squad and is set to play an ODI for the first time since the series against South Africa in India in February, when he scored a double-century in Gwalior.

Sachin Tendulkar was left stranded unbeaten on 111 as India were bowled out for 459 in their second innings, crashing to an innings-and-25-run defeat to South Africa on the final day of the opening Test at Centurion Park. Having fought valiantly on days three and four to get themselves within touching distance of making their hosts bat again, their challenge faded with a whimper on the final morning as they added just five runs for their remaining two wickets.
