Australia were only able to add nine runs to their overnight score before they were bowled out for 241 in their second innings, and India reached 50 for the loss of two wickets to go 1-0 up in the four-match series.

While it could have been a lot worse for the tourists had Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli not fallen cheaply, it could and should have been a lot better. Dropped catches allowed Virender Sehwag and Kohli extra opportunities and while Kohli couldn't take advantage, Sehwag certainly did.
