Surrey To Miss Out On Tait For Twenty20 Campaign

Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait will not be coming to Surrey and playing as an overseas player in this season's domestic Twenty20 competition. Tait contacted the club raising concerns over his ability to fulfil a 16-game programme having suffered further problems with his troublesome elbow during the Indian Premier League.

Surrey Name 13-Man Squad For Glamorgan Match

Surrey have named a 13-man squad for their LV= County Championship clash with Middlesex that gets underway at Lord's on 27th April. Fast bowlers Chris Jordan and Tim Linley are added to the side that drew with Glamorgan in Cardiff. Jordan is recovering from injury but has been showing good form in second-team cricket while Linley played Surrey's first game against Northamptonshire before missing out in Cardiff.

Collier Pays Tribute To Ex-England Bowler Peter Loader

England & Wales Cricket Board chairman David Collier has paid tribute to former Surrey and England fast bowler Peter Loader, who has died aged 81. Loader played 13 Tests between 1954 and 1958, taking 39 wickets while his first-class career garnered him 1,108 wickets at an average of 19.04 for Surrey before he retired in 1963.

Gary Wilson Handed New Deal At Surrey

Surrey wicket-keeper Gary Wilson has signed a new contract which should keep him at the Kia Oval until the end of the 2012 season. The 25-year-old, currently with Ireland at the Cricket World Cup, has been rewarded for a fine showing in 2010, when he averaged 43.62 in six first-class matches.

Surrey Award Ramprakash New Contract

Surrey batsman Mark Ramprakash has signed a new contract extension which will see him remain at the Kia Oval until the end of the 2012 season. Ramprakash, who as scored more than 15,000 first-class runs for Surrey, will be 43 when the contract expires. He is currently recovering from a knee injury suffered while playing football in November.

Linley Signs Two-Year Surrey Contract

Surrey fast bowler Tim Linley has signed a new contract with Surrey which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2012 season. The 28-year-old joined Surrey in 2008 and impressed in 2010, taking 20 wickets for the first team despite missing a large chunk of the season with a foot injury.

Surrey have moved to further strengthen their batting line-up by signing Tom Maynard from Glamorgan ahead of the 2011 season. 21-year-old Maynard, the son of England international Matthew, has signed a three-year contract which should see him at The Oval until the end of the 2013 season.

Surrey Snap Up Tait For FPt20 Competition

Surrey have announced the signing of Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait for this season's Friends Provident t20 competition and he will be available for the duration of the competition. Tait, 27, is currently involved in the Twenty20 International series against England and is renowned for bowling at speeds in excess of 90mph.
