Edgbaston Stadium has broken new ground by becoming the first county cricket stadium in the UK to have its own iPhone application (app), which has been released in time for the landmark Test match it is hosting between England and India from 10th August.

A team of UK cricketers has travelled to Rwanda to start a new cricket programme for young people. The team, including former Warwickshire player Dan Dalton, are travelling around Rwanda to hold cricket lessons for children, as part of the Conservatives’ Project Umubano.

Winning Design To Paint Eric Hollies Stand Red

Lucas Pfister, an eleven year old from Baverstock School and Sports College in Kings Heath, has won the Warwickshire County Cricket Club and Cure Leukaemia Midlands schools T-shirt design competition. Lucas will see his design worn on thousands of red t-shirts on the first day of the Third npower Test Match between England and India, as they are given out to fans in the iconic Eric Hollies stand for Cure Leukaemia Day on 10th August.

Giles And Bell Get Behind Midlands-Based Charities

Warwickshire Director of Cricket Ashley Giles and batsman Ian Bell recently swapped their cricket bats for irons and putters as they played at a charity golf day in Stratford-upon-Avon, raising money for Cure Leukaemia, a Birmingham-based charity. They joined forces with other cricketers and ex-footballers as part of a series of link-ups with Warwickshire CCC to raise the profile of the charity and raise funds.

ECB Reject Warwickshire's Edgbaston Pitch Appeal

The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have upheld the decision made last week to dock Warwickshire eight points for an unfit pitch in their County Championship match with Worcestershire. Warwickshire, who bet365 make 9/2 third favourites to win the title, had appealed the penalty on the basis of 'failure to follow due process' by the ECB and that 'no consideration had been given for extenuating circumstances'.

Warwickshire Hit With Points Penalty For Poor Pitch

Warwickshire have been hit with an eight-point deduction after an England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) pitch inspection team ruled that the pitch prepared for the LV= County Championship match against Worcestershire at Edgbaston was poor. "An ECB Pitch Panel comprising David Hughes and Tony Pigott (Pitch Liaison Officers) was convened to consider the pitch used for the LV= County Championship Match at Edgbaston commencing on 11 May 2011 between Warwickshire and Worcestershire," a statement from the ECB read.
