Van Niekerk Hat-Trick Downs West Indies

Dane van Niekerk took a hat-trick and returned figures of five for 28 to bowl South Africa Women to an 80-run win over West Indies Women in the first One-Day International in Saint Kitts. After Trisha Chetty's 57 had helped South Africa reach 206 for eight, van Niekerk ripped through West Indies' batting to dismiss the home side for 126 in reply.

Brits Returns For West Indies Tour

West Indies Women and South Africa Women have both named their squads for the five-match One-Day International series between the two sides, which begins in St Kitts on 7th January. West Indies will again be led by Merissa Aguilleira and include ICC Women's ODI Player of the Year, Stafanie Taylor, as their vice-captain.

West Indies Women will play five One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals against South Africa Women from 7th to 20th January. The ODI series will provide both teams with competitive preparation for the World Cup and the two Twenty20 matches will be played ahead of the final matches of the Caribbean Twenty20.

Samuels Blasts West Indies To 18-Run Win

The West Indies won their first match since triumphing at the ICC World Twenty20 but were pushed hard by Bangladesh before running out the victors by 18 runs in Mirpur. Marlon Samuels thumped nine sixes in an innings of 85 that led the West Indies to 197 for four before Bangladesh, inspired by Tamim Iqbal's 88 not out, closed on 179 for one.

Bangladesh Clinch Series In Tense Finale

Despite failing to chase 212 yesterday, Bangladesh managed, just about, to chase six more than that today to win an absorbing five-match series against the West Indies by three games to two. They lost regular wickets throughout their run chase and it was left to number ten Elias Sunny to partner Nasir Hossain when the winning boundary was hit. Shafiul Islam had earlier made the most of his first chance of the series, taking three for 31, as the West Indies batsmen again struggled.

West Indies Square Series Thanks To All-Round Sammy

When West Indies went two-nil down to Bangladesh just five days ago there were again calls in some quarters for their captain Darren Sammy's head. However, less than a week later Sammy has played a starring role in helping West Indies level the series. His unbeaten 60 from number eight allowed the West Indies to recover from more spin-induced woes to post a competitive total, while his first-over double-strike provided the hosts with a setback from which they never recovered.

Bangladesh will have to do without the services of all-rounder Abul Hasan as they try to protect their 2-0 One-Day International series lead over the West Indies. Hasan, who shot to prominence by scoring a century making his Test debut at number 10, also against the West Indies, suffered a side strain during his side's 160-run win in the second game in Khulna.

India To Open Women's World Cup Against West Indies

Hosts India will get the 2013 ICC Women's World Cup underway when they take on the West Indies in the tournament's opening game at the Wankhede Stadium on 31st January. Five-time champions Australia play Pakistan on the same day, 2009 runners-up New Zealand take on South Africa one day later and reigning champions England get their defence underway against Sri Lanka on 2nd February.

Bangladesh Break Record As They Demolish West Indies

Bangladesh recorded their biggest ever win in terms of runs in One-Day Internationals as they thrashed West Indies by 160 in Khulna. Anamul Haque set things up with a mature 120 and added 174 with Mushfiqur Rahim to help the hosts recover from a shaky start. Sohag Gazi and Abdur Razzak then each took three wickets as West Indies imploded for 132 in the run chase.

The West Indies Cricket Board has provided full playing kit for the West Indies Blind Cricket Team for their participation in the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup for the Blind. The team departed the Caribbean yesterday, November 28th for the tournament which will be played in Bangalore, India from December 1st to 13th.

Zimbabwe Set To Tour West Indies In February And March

Zimbabwe will tour the West Indies to play two Tests, three One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals in February and March. The ODI series will see international cricket return to the Grenada National Stadium for the first time since 2009 and the Tests will be the first between the two sides since 2003.

Bangladesh And West Indies Suffer Injury Setbacks Ahead Of ODIs

Bangladesh and West Indies have both suffered injury setbacks ahead of the forthcoming limited-overs matches in Khulna and Mirpur. Tino Best has been ruled out of both the five-match ODI series and the one-off T20 as a result of the hamstring injury that he picked up during the second Test, while Shakib Al Hasan will miss at least the first two matches in the ODI series after being diagnosed with a stress fracture of his right tibia.

West Indies Wrap Up 2-0 Series Win

Bangladesh's lower-order didn't last long on the final morning, leaving West Indies a target of just 27 to wrap up victory in the two-match series 2-0. Tino Best took three of the wickets to fall to end with career-best figures of six for 40, while Nasir Hossain again fell just short of his maiden Test century.
