One of the most remarkable rescue acts ever seen in women's cricket came to nothing when Sri Lanka, thanks to Deepika Rasangika's 55, reached their victory target to level the series in 45.3 overs.

West Indies Thrash Clueless Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe were thoroughly outclassed in the first One-Day International in Grenada, losing by 156 runs as the West Indies bounced back from their whitewash at the hands of Australia to inflict a huge defeat on the tourists. Johnson Charles and Darren Bravo both hit hundreds at the West Indies racked up 337 for four after being invited to bat, while their bowlers found it exceptionally easy to contain the Zimbabweans once the early blows had been struck by Kemar Roach and Sunil Narine.

Dottin Powers West Indies To Victory Over Sri Lanka

West Indies Women might have been comprehensively beaten in the World Cup final five days ago but they put that disappointment behind them with a four-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the first One-Day International in Dambulla. They were tested at times by Sri Lanka, who finished the World Cup in fifth, but eventually proved too strong for their ever-improving opponents.

The West Indies have added Jonathan Carter to their One-Day International squad as cover for Kieron Pollard, who is experiencing difficulties in reaching Grenada ahead of Friday's opener against Zimbabwe. The three-match series gets underway on 22nd February and with Pollard absent, the uncapped Carter offers another big-hitting option in the middle order.

Dwayne Bravo To Captain West Indies Against Zimbabwe

West Indies have chosen the forthcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe as an opportunity to rest some of their senior players. Captain Darren Sammy has been left out of the 13-man squad for the first two matches in Grenada, while the selectors have granted Chris Gayle permission to miss all three matches at his request. Dwayne Bravo will skipper the side in Sammy's absence.

Two of the surprise packages from the recently concluded ICC Women's World Cup, West Indies and Sri Lanka, will play a series of limited-overs matches later this month. The first of three One-Day Internationals will begin in Dambulla on 22nd February, with the first of five T20 Internationals taking place on 1st March at the R Premadasa.

Charles Leads West Indies To Easy Win

West Indies finally recorded a win on their limited-overs tour of Australia at the seventh attempt by beating a virtually second-string home side in the one-off T20 International at the Gabba. Johnson Charles, fresh from his maiden international century in the fifth ODI, laid the platform for their impressive total of 191 for six with a 35-ball 57. Australia's inexperienced middle-order then crumbled when faced with the daunting required run rate and they finished short on 164 for eight.

Kieron Pollard scored an outstanding century - his second against Australia - but even that wasn't enough to prevent Australia sealing a five-wicket victory in the fourth match in Sydney. Shane Watson was in good form again, scoring a half-century, as Australia moved into a 4-0 series lead with one match to play, further extending their record of not having lost an ODI at home to the West Indies since 1997.

Three Uncapped Players In Australia Twenty20 Squad

Australia have called up uncapped fast bowlers Nathan Coulter-Nile and Josh Hazlewood as well as batsman Ben Rohrer for their Twenty20 International against the West Indies in Brisbane on 13th February. Brad Haddin and Clint McKay are also in the squad as David Warner is unavailable through injury and Matthew Wade, Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell and Xavier Doherty are on their way to India to prepare for a four-Test series.

Haddin, Coulter-Nile Join Australia ODI Squad

Brad Haddin, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Adam Voges will be part of Australia's One-Day International squad for the fifth and final game against the West Indies in Melbourne on Sunday (10th February). Wicket-keeper Haddin replaces Matthew Wade, who, along with Glenn Maxwell, is departing early for the Test tour of India which gets underway later this month.
